Our Story

STL Yoga Collective was founded in 2023 as a grassroots nonprofit born from a deeply personal turning point.

After experiencing postpartum disconnection, our founder turned to yoga as a way back to presence, grounding, and self-connection. Alcohol no longer aligned with the life she wanted to live — one rooted in clarity, intention, and fully showing up for each moment.

Yoga became more than movement…

It became therapy

It became Routine

It became A Return to self

As her practice deepened and she stepped into teaching, a shared theme began to emerge: so many people were quietly craving the same thing — a healthier, alcohol-free way to unwind, connect, and feel like themselves again.

What started as small gatherings soon evolved into retreat-style experiences welcoming more than 120 attendees at a time. Each event revealed the same truth: people weren’t just coming for yoga. They were coming for community, belonging, and a new way of living.

And from that, STL Yoga Collective was born — rooted in kindness, built through connection, and driven by impact across Saint Louis and beyond.

Our mission is to unite people and communities across Saint Louis in a space where kindness is king, wellness is essential, connections are cultivated, education is sought, and giving back is a priority.

What we believe

our values guide everything we do

Inspired by the Eight Limbs of Yoga.

STL Yoga Collective is guided by the Eight Limbs of Yoga — the foundation of yoga as a holistic way of living. Rather than teaching philosophy in an academic or intimidating way, we embody it through experience: movement, mindfulness, reflection, connection, and service.

This is yoga lived — on and off the mat.

Why A Kindness-Centered Wellness Community?

Many social spaces move quickly and leave little room for real community, being present, and connecting in meaningful ways. STL Yoga Collective was created as an intentional alternative — a space where people can gather, unwind, and build relationships rooted in kindness, mindfulness, and genuine care for one another.

Our gatherings are designed to feel calm, welcoming, and deeply human. By creating room for reflection, conversation, and shared presence, we foster authentic connections and a sense of belonging that supports personal wellness and collective growth.
